Jon Ellenbogen and Rebecca Plummer produce bathroom and wet-bar sinks made of stoneware. Self-rimming and free-standing sinks are available in glossy and matte glazes. Dimensions can be customized, with inside diameters usually between 12 and 16 inches. Standard plumbing fixtures and installation methods can be used. Pottery is made from specially formulated stoneware clay from naturally occurring minerals and glazes that are made exclusively by the studio. No toxic materials are used in the clay or glazes. Pottery is fired to nearly 2400 degrees F, a temperature well above the melting point of many metals. Consequently each piece is extremely durable. Barking Spider has more than 30 years experience in production pottery. More than 100 sinks have been installed in homes throughout the US and Sweden.
