Christopher Winterstein owns and operates Dirt Circus Ironworks in Bakersville, N.C., where he creates custom architectural ironwork for private residences, merging the classical techniques of blacksmithing into beautiful and lively designs for contemporary settings. Winterstein has been a blacksmith for more than 10 years, working for some of the top metalsmiths and institutions in the country on everything from restoration of historical ironwork to large scale public art. He is a frequent teacher and demonstrator around the country and is proud to serve as a director of the Artist Blacksmith’s Association of North America (ABANA).
